Young Professionals Tu B’Av Stoplight Party (20’s & 30’s)

Young Professionals Tu B’Av Stoplight Party (20’s & 30’s)

Celebrate Tu B’av with Beth David Young Professionals (20’s-30’s). Tu B’av, a lesser known Jewish holiday, is all about love. The holiday takes place on the 15th of Av (“Tu” refers to 15) and has basically become the “Jewish Valentine’s Day” in Israel and some English-speaking countries. Before its modern interpretation, though, Tu B’av can be traced back to the grape harvest as a day of matchmaking. At some point, hundreds of years later, it was reinterpreted as a celebration of love.

There’s no right or wrong way to participate in Tu B’av! Celebrate the holiday in style with a Stoplight Party! What does this mean…?

The basic idea of the party is that each guest wears clothing in a color that best suits their status. The color green means that one is single and looking for a relationship. Red means that one is in a relationship, or not looking for one. Yellow may mean “unsure” or “maybe,” or could mean that one is in a relationship but still open to advances.

We’ll be providing tons of delicious appetizers, desserts, themed drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), a photo booth, music and so much more! Make sure to grab your Early Bird ticket asap as prices go up on August 12th! RSVP by Thursday August 15th!
