A Warm Welcome to Current Members
Hopefully by now you’ve seen our Membership Year slogan…because you helped inspire it!
Temple Beth David members are ♥ meaningful ♫ musical ✡ memorable.
♥ You are Meaningful – Fellow congregants and Temple clergy and staff think about you, care about you, learn from you, and enjoy being friends with you. ♫ You are Musical – Cantor Nancy Linder, your adult and youth choirs (comprised solely of Temple members), your Pianist Marina Indich, and your Friday Night Live band love guiding you in the melodic prayers and songs and enjoy your soulful response. ✡ You are Memorable – Every time you attend and participate in a Temple service, program, Chavurah, and/or activity you add to the special history and legacy of TBD while enriching your own life and touching the lives of those around you.
A common sentiment among our congregants that echoes the TV show Cheers’ theme song really personifies our uniqueness: TBD is a place “where everyone knows your name and they’re always glad you came.” While we are small enough to have such warmth and an internal sense of community, we also are large and diverse enough to make a positive impact on our local community. We know there are many synagogues to choose from, and we’re so grateful you have found Temple Beth David to be your spiritual home away from home. We treasure you as an essential part of our Temple Beth David family tree (thus our logo); we invite you to make the most of y our synagogue experience (See Benefits), and wish you much shalom and happiness.
A Warm Welcome to Prospective Members
We realize each synagogue has its own unique personality. while there are many reasons people of all ages (newborns to over 90 and many in between) from numerous cultural/ethnic backgrounds have chosen Temple Beth David, most often we hear it’s because of how down-to-earth, friendly, and diverse our members are (See Testimonials). Members also love how inviting and helpful our Rabbi Nancy is, how talented and inspiring our Cantor Nancy is, and more pragmatically – how freeway close we are! People love having such an array of educational and social programming to choose from and a special place to pray weekly. And more importantly, people appreciate the deep sense of connection and comfort they feel with other members especially during joyous and sad life cycle events. If you look at the Temple Beth David logo, it personifies a tree. It’s because we want you to feel the blessings of being part of the TBD family tree. The 36 leaves reflect double chai …as we realize the extra joy one can experience from being part of our synagogue. There is also a branch with no leaves (yet) to show we always have an outstretched arm to newcomers, guests, and also to the community. We welcome you to explore Temple Beth David – whether by taking a tour, meeting with our Rabbi and other staff, and/or joining us for Shabbat Services and the many programs offered. Should you choose to join Temple Beth David, (see member application); we look forward to making your experience a meaningful, musical, and memorable one!
