Jack Broscow Brotherhood of Temple Beth David
The Jack Broscow Brotherhood of Temple Beth David is the men’s club of Temple Beth David. We are part of the Men of Reform Judaism (MRJ), an independent affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ).
It is our function to serve the Temple, the community, and Reform Judaism. It is also our function to serve Jewish men by lifting them spiritually, offering fellowship and friendship, providing opportunities for personal fulfillment, and having fun.
Our some of our activities include:
- Putting on Sunday brunches with engaging speakers and delicious food.
- Sponsoring the fun filled Chanukah Carnival and supporting the Purim Carnival.
- Ushering during the High Holidays.
- Conducting our annual Brotherhood Service and Men’s Seder.
- Providing Yom HaShoah candles to the congregation to help commemorate the Holocaust and to create an opportunity to discuss it with their children.
- Putting up and taking down the Sukkah, as well as being instrumental in its construction.
- Sponsoring a Men’s discussion group.
- Holding a Texas Hold’em Tournament.
- Contributing generously to the Temple and to fight anti-Semitism and promote Reform Judaism through the MRJ’s Tukkun Program. This year we also contributed to “Nothing But Nets” to fight Malaria and save lives in Africa.
We participate in many other events. We are continually adding and improving activities. Our meetings are usually the second Thursday of the month at the Temple. Social hour begins at 7:00 PM, followed by a short business meeting at 8:00 PM. All men are welcome at our meeting and you are welcome to bring your dinner.
The upcoming year promises to be a great one. The Brotherhood schedule is shown below. Mark you calendars and plan to participate.
I ask all the men of Temple Beth David to join us in Brotherhood. Share our fellowship. Please contact me at jeffrl@earthlink.net, (714-968-9072) or Jerrold Korn our Membership Vice President at jdk4asu@earthlink.net, (714-897-6417).
